What’s New at Nassau Equestrian Summer 2010
During a very busy Spring, Mr. John Russo and his team have made giant strides improving the property and are looking forward to sharing NEC with students this summer. Since the last NEC Newsletter, the lower barn has been painted and new gardens have been made. As busy as Spring was, Summer 2010 promises to be filled with activities for every equestrian discipline and age group. Whether it’s Pony Pals or a Ladies Class, Nassau Equestrian Center wants to make everyone’s 2010 a summer to remember!
Looking to take your riding to the next level? Then join one of Nassau Equestrian Center’s Show Teams! NEC offers both a Junior and Senior Division, that will help riders make strides toward the show ring. Each lesson is geared to prepare students for both hunter and equitation classes, with an emphasis on etiquette and real life scenarios (i.e. practice shows). Junior Division is every Tuesday at 6:00 with Morgan Dalis and Senior Division is every Thursday at 6:00 with Jackie Donovan. Talk to us about an evaluation lesson to see where you place today!
In the last few months, a few new faces have joined the staff at NEC, although they are not new to the Long Island horse community.
Brian Georgiades – Manager
Brian has been involved in the Long Island horse world for his whole life. He brings a wealth of experience to NEC and is looking forward working with all the wonderful customers. Brian is working with the trainers to make NEC’s Show Teams, camps and lessons the best on Long Island, and is very excited to once again be working with John Russo.
Jackie Donovan – Trainer
Although a new trainer to NEC, Jackie Donovan has been working as a trainer on Long Island for many years. Along with being in charge of the Senior Division of Show Team, Jackie also teaches lessons four days a week. She is very excited to get NEC students out and about on the show circuit.
Rebecca Lanzot – Camp Counselor
Rebecca was practically raised on horses. She grew up lessoning and riding constantly and has just completed the Wilson Tech Program. As of Fall 2010, Rebecca will be attending SUNY Morrissville as an Equine Science and Management Major. Rebecca is looking forward to making Summer Camp and Pony Pals a fun and educational experience for all students.
We are very excited to welcome in our new boarders and leasers along with their wonderful equine partners!
